Bridge Conventions (List)
A variation of 2-way Stayman invented by W. August. The 2D response to partner's 1NT opening demands longer major, after which any bid by responder is signoff.
A bid of 2C, followed by 3C shows a weak hand with both minors.
August 2D
A bidding convention is an agreement between two players on a different meaning of a bid in the card game bridge. These agreements are made so that partners can more quickly determine which contract, with both their cards, they can win together. Often, conventions are forged together into one, which is then called a bidding system.
